When I joined my family’s business, I really needed help with almost everything related to my new job as office manager.

They pretty much trained me to do my job that I do now… I literally was there two days and we experienced an audit, and I knew nothing.

The details and legal questions on a daily basis were stressful, and our workers’ compensation rates were also extremely high because of several substantial claims. All of this was a huge burden.

If I needed them, my different DES team members would be there. If we got an audit, they were there. If I didn’t know an answer, they were there. And I wasn’t as scared because I knew I had somebody that knew their stuff that I could turn to.

First and foremost, DES helped us find ways to better control our workers’ compensation costs, saving us money overall. DES then also helped me create consistent standards and resources to manage my team. We were growing, so that was a really big deal.
We also developed an employee handbook together, ensured that processes were compliant with the different codes, helped with 401K, insurance, payroll, and dealing with different grievances from employees.
Over the years they have filled such a supportive role, and have helped me feel confident in my job. Like I said, when I need them, they’re there!
